Born in 1929 in Johannesburg and died in Tulbagh, Cape in 2001.
Studied 1947- 50 University of the Witwatersrand, gaining a BA (Fine Arts); 1951-52 on a postgraduate study bursary at the Slade School of Art, thereafter studied on an Italian Goverment Travelling Scholarship in Italy and from 1959 - 60 on a Japanese Goverment travelling scholarship at the Unversity of Kyoto, Japan.
He participated in numerous group exhibitions from 1949 in South Africa and in the U.K., in France, Japan, the U.S.A., Belgium, Canada Australia, Spain and The Netherlands.
